Farmers Market Mornings

You know those slow Saturday mornings where you swear you’re just going to “pop in for berries” but somehow leave with wildflowers, a baguette, a jar of honey, and three kinds of goat cheese? Same.

the vibe

the playlist

the outfit

Think linen and cotton textures, worn-in sandals, a straw tote with half a book and a peach inside. You’re sipping something iced, pretending you don’t totally look like someone from an old Nancy Meyers movie.

five things I always grab at any market

  1. I always grab an iced white chocolate americano. I know… not super exciting but a tried and true!
  2. Fresh flowers are an essential to any market trip. I love love love when peonies are in season, especially the pale pink. My fav!
  3. I love getting a fresh loaf of bread for the week, or sometimes a baguette for a dinner I have planned.
  4. My husband loves chips and salsa, like it’s almost concerning, so I always grab him a fresh pint of salsa for the week.
  5. A baked good of some sort. I love an almond croissant, or a fresh homestyle cookie. I’ll sometimes go for a lemon bar if those are available somewhere. Did you know I used to be a baker before this became my full time career?

how to romanticize your next market trip

  1. Wear something you love (even if it’s just a better version of your usual tee)
  2. Forget the phone, even if it’s still in your tote bag.
  3. Bring a reusable tote or an old basket. It’s the vibe
  4. Buy the fancy jam…even if you don’t “need” it
  5. Take a picture. Just one. You’ll want to remember it. (even better if it’s on an actual camera)

free farmers market bingo card for kids

Farmers markets are seriously the best time of year second to the holidays. If you’re like me, you love bringing your little ones along, but sometimes they need a little extra something to keep them engaged while you browse. That’s where this Farmers Market Bingo comes in.

It’s simple, fun and a great way to ditch the iPad and help your kids notice the beauty around them. I made this for my own toddler to enjoy and wanted to share it here, too!

This printable bingo card has 25 squares filled with things your kids might spot at your local market. From rainbow veggies and street musicians to fresh bread and jars of honey. Some are silly, some are educational, and all are designed to help your little one stay curious and engaged.

how to the bingo printable works:

Print it out before you go (I recommend cardstock!)
Bring a crayon or sticker sheet to mark the spots
Play together or let your child lead the way
Talk about what they find
